Some people dream of being a writer. Some strive to make that dream a reality. Others are discovered and go on to be famous. Joanna Wright fell into writing backwards, while on a trip to somewhere else.

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Biochemistry, Joanna went to work in research, hoping to have a small part in a cure for a world threatening illness. After working for almost ten years, she decided to take a break from science by having two children. Little did she know she would never return to the world of science. The birth of her second child triggered major health issues, and the next thing she knew, she was at home, taking care of two small children. She decided to join a mom's group in her church, and when they needed someone to write for their newsletter, Joanna Wright's writing career was born.

Joanna Wright has since been published in two national magazines, MomSense and Celebrate Life. She then began to write for the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series, combining her love of story telling and writing. Her three stories are included in the following books- What I Learned from the Cat, Shaping the New You, and A Cat's Life. She has also begun to write cards for DaySpring Card Company.

She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband and two children. Living in Indiana introduced her to quilting, which she does in her spare time. She also enjoys reading, drawing, gardening, bike riding, and singing with her church choir.
